Martyrs’ Day to Be Observed at Historic Ridge Ground, Shimla on January 30

Shimla, Jan 28, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap chaired a preparatory meeting regarding the Martyrs’ Day programme scheduled to be held on January 30, 2026, at the historic Ridge Ground near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi.

The ceremony will commence at 10:30 am, during which distinguished guests and officials will offer floral tributes at the statue of the Father of the Nation. At 11:00 am, a two-minute silence will be observed in remembrance of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country.

Artists from the Information and Public Relations Department will present Ramdhun and devotional songs during the programme.

The Deputy Commissioner said that Martyrs’ Day is a solemn and dignified occasion, and instructed all departments to complete necessary arrangements in a timely manner while ensuring the sanctity of the event. He also emphasized coordinated participation of various departments for the smooth conduct of the programme.

Senior officials including Additional Deputy Commissioner Sachin Sharma, Sub-Divisional Magistrates and municipal officers attended the meeting.
