Mandi Shivratri: Jairam Thakur Vows to Complete Shivdham Project

Mandi, March 5, 2025: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition, Jairam Thakur, has reiterated his commitment to completing the Shivdham Project in Mandi. Speaking at the concluding ceremony of the International Mandi Shivratri Festival, he said that despite hurdles, the ₹250 crore project will be completed, even if the current government is reluctant.
Jairam Thakur, who attended the grand Jaleb procession alongside Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, emphasized that Mandi’s Shivratri Festival is no less than a Dev Mahakumbh, preserving ancient traditions. He highlighted efforts to transform Mandi into a major religious tourism hub, leveraging its identity as Chhoti Kashi and PM Modi’s special interest in the city.
During the event, Thakur visited Raj Madhav Rai Temple and Bhootnath Temple, where he offered prayers and participated in devta darshan ceremonies. Several BJP leaders, including MLAs Inder Singh Gandhi, Purn Chand, Dalip Thakur, and BJP Vice President Payal Vaidya, were present.
