Mandi Records Highest Cases of Crimes Against Women in Himachal

Shimla Dec 29 :In Himachal Pradesh, Mandi district leads in cases of cruelty and harassment against women, as per data from the past 11 months. Out of 160 registered cases of cruelty, Mandi accounted for 26, followed by Kangra, Una, and Bilaspur with 22 cases each.

For harassment, Mandi again topped with 74 of the 458 cases reported across the state. Other districts like Sirmaur (58), Shimla (54), and Kangra (52) followed.

Mandi also recorded the highest number of rape cases, with 52 out of the 305 cases registered this year. Districts like Sirmaur (45) and Shimla (39) followed.

However, a positive note is the absence of dowry death cases in the state for the last 23 months.
