In Manali, Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh, three bodies were recovered from under a Punjab Roadways bus that got swept away in the floods in the Beas River. On Tuesday, the administration’s team started the operation to extricate the bus stuck in the middle of the river. The bus is being pulled out using cranes after changing the direction of the river’s flow. During this operation, the bodies of a grandmother, her daughter, and her granddaughter were found under the bus. The deceased individuals include Parveen (32), her five-year-old daughter Bahar, and Abdul (62).
There is a fear that more bodies might be trapped under the bus. It has been around 24 days since 11 members of the same family had gone missing. So far, three bodies have been found. In the catastrophic floods that occurred on July 9th and 10th, many vehicles were swept away. Several vehicles have not been traced yet. In this flood, the Punjab Roadways bus also got stuck and is now wedged in a large rock. Eleven members of a single family from Ayodhya were on board this bus.
