Manali-Chandigarh NH blocked after landslide

Shimla, Feb 12 – A landsline blocked the Manali-Chandigarh National Highway-3, near Panchmile in Mandi district, the administration has diverted vehicular traffic to alternative roads.
Heavy Machinary have been deployed to remove the debris. The highway is expected to be restored very soon. The SP said that small vehicles could travel via Katola from Mandi to Manali and small vehicles could travel from Manali to Delhi via Chalchok. Large vehicles may have to wait for the highway to be restored. In fact, the work of making the National Highway four-lane is going on in Mandi. According to the SP, landslides occur due to the widening of the road to convert it to Fourlane. Due to the landslide, people are stuck in the jam for hours.
