Man Held With Heroin During Night Patrol in Shimla

Police in Shimla arrested a man after recovering 8.86 grams of heroin during routine patrolling in the Lower Tutu area. The action was taken by a team of Baluganj Police Station, which noticed the suspect behaving suspiciously and conducted a search.
The accused has been identified as Hitender Singh, also known as Rinku (42), a resident of Arki in Solan district. Following the recovery, police registered a case under the NDPS Act and took him into custody.
Police officials said the accused is being questioned to identify the source of the contraband and the possible supply network. Both backward and forward links are being examined as part of the investigation.
Police have reiterated their commitment to curbing drug trafficking in the state and appealed to citizens to cooperate and share information to help make the society drug-free.
