Main Motto Of Institute Is To Do Research – Prof. ShashiPrabha Kumar

Shimla, 2-06-2022: Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla organized a press meet/conference at IIAS, Shimla on 02-06-2022 for the newly appointed chairman and president “Prof. ShashiPrabha Kumar” of the governing body of the Institute. During the press meet Chairmen Prof. ShashiPrabha Kumar and officiating Secretary Shri Prem Chand welcomed and briefed the media persons about the academic activities of the Institute and highlighted its future vision.
Prof. ShashiPrabha Kumar said that main motto and focus of the Institute is to do the research in such fields which has a deep human significance especially in current global scenarios. She said, in the present global climatic crisis we need to focus on the issues like climate change, conservation, management and utilization of the scarce recourses such as water, vegetation and soil. During the press meet she said that the Institute will work on the varied projects which will help us to understand and regain the rich past, culture and forgotten glory of this beautiful country.
Beside that she also emphasized that we need to work on the conservation of our rich culture, historical monuments and natural resources especially in the Himalayas and coastal regions.
