LR Law Students Visit National Lok Adalat on Women’s Day

Solan, Mar 10: Second-year students of LR Institute of Legal Studies, Solan, had the opportunity to visit the National Lok Adalat on the occasion of International Women’s Day. During the visit, they gained valuable insights into Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms and their significance in the Indian judicial system.
The students had the privilege of interacting with Hon’ble Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, who emphasized the role of Lok Adalats in ensuring quick, cost-effective, and amicable dispute resolution. He highlighted how these courts reduce the burden on regular judicial forums by promoting mutual settlements. Justice Chauhan also extended his best wishes to the faculty members and students on International Women’s Day.
Additionally, the students engaged in discussions with prominent legal experts, including Advocates Alok Bhardwaj, Abhishek Thakur, and Manoj Verma, at the District and Sessions Court, Solan. These experts shared their experiences regarding case proceedings, the role of lawyers in Lok Adalats, and the significance of legal aid in society.
This educational visit provided students with a first-hand experience of the legal system, enhancing their understanding of judicial mechanisms and dispute resolution. The faculty and administration of LR Institute of Legal Studies appreciated the initiative, emphasizing the importance of such visits in shaping future legal professionals.
