LR Institute of Legal Studies Visits Sadar Thana Kotlanala and Mahila Police Station Solana

Solan, July 23, 2024 – Today, students and faculty members from the LR Institute of Legal Studies visited the Sadar Thana Kotlanala and the Mahila Police Station in Solan. The visit was part of an educational initiative aimed at providing law students with practical insights into police operations and the functioning of law enforcement agencies.

During the visit, the students engaged with police officers to understand the day-to-day workings of the stations. They were given a tour of the facilities and observed various aspects of police work, including the filing of complaints, investigation processes, and community policing efforts. The officers also explained the challenges faced by law enforcement in maintaining law and order, and the measures taken to address these issues.

At the Mahila Police Station, special emphasis was placed on the handling of cases related to women’s safety and domestic violence. The students learned about the support systems in place for victims and the legal procedures followed in such cases. The officers highlighted the importance of gender sensitivity in policing and the role of the Mahila Police Station in providing a safe environment for women to report crimes.

The visit concluded with an interactive session where students had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss various legal and procedural aspects with the officers. This firsthand experience provided the students with valuable knowledge and a deeper understanding of the practical aspects of law enforcement, complementing their academic studies.
