Legal Aid Clinic, HPNLU Raises Cyberbullying Awareness at Ghanahatti School

Shimla, 14 May 2025 — The Legal Aid Clinic of Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, conducted a legal awareness camp on cyberbullying at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Memorial Public School, Ghanahatti. Held under the patronage of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, the programme aimed to sensitize school children about the dangers of cyberbullying and promote safe digital practices.

The session opened with an overview of cyberbullying, detailing its types, psychological impact, and legal consequences. Using real-life examples and an engaging skit, the Legal Aid Clinic team made the subject accessible and relatable for young students. They also informed students about lodging complaints via the Cybercrime Reporting Portal and emphasized the importance of digital vigilance.

Students actively participated by sharing experiences and seeking guidance. The Principal and faculty of the host school appreciated the initiative, underlining its relevance in today’s digital age.

This initiative is part of the Clinic’s broader commitment to legal literacy and youth empowerment. The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Alok Kumar (Chairperson), Dr. Ruchi Gupta (Faculty Convenor), and student members of the Legal Aid Clinic.
