Mandi: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur commemorated *Veer Bal Diwas* at Saraswati Vidya Mandir in Hatgarh, Nachan Assembly Constituency. He paid tribute to the sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh’s young sons, Sahibzadas Zorawar Singh (9 years) and Fateh Singh (6 years), who refused to bow down to Mughal atrocities.

Jairam Thakur highlighted that the Sahibzadas’ martyrdom sends a powerful message about the triumph of humanity and determination over cruelty. Their sacrifice remains unparalleled in history, and their courage continues to inspire future generations. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for declaring this day as *Veer Bal Diwas*, enabling the nation to honor their sacrifices and learn about the brutal challenges faced during those times.

He also shed light on the sacrifices of Guru Arjan Dev, Guru Tegh Bahadur, and their associates who endured unimaginable tortures for the sake of faith and humanity. Thakur honored meritorious students during the event, which saw participation from local MLA Vinod Kumar, District BJP President Nihal Chand Sharma, and a large gathering of students and parents.

Thakur criticized the state government for halting recruitments and upgrading institutions for three months. He claimed the government has officially communicated this decision to departments, dashing hopes of employment and development in the state. Highlighting the adverse impact on youth, he stated, “The government’s intentions are clear—they do not wish to provide employment or opportunities to the people of Himachal Pradesh.”
