Law and Order Completely Collapsed Under Congress Rule, Says Randhir Sharma

Shimla:
BJP State Media In-charge and Naina Devi MLA Randhir Sharma has alleged that the law and order situation in Himachal Pradesh has gone completely out of control under the Congress government. Referring to the recent incident in Rougi Panchayat of Manali Assembly constituency, Sharma said the brutal attack on a Revenue Department team is living proof that the rule of law has been replaced by the rule of political strongmen.
Randhir Sharma stated that the attack on Patwari Bhop Singh and other revenue officials, who were carrying out land demarcation as per official orders, was not just an assault on government employees but a direct challenge to the authority of law and administration. He alleged that BDC Chairman of Nagar, Khekh Ram, misused his political influence—first threatening the revenue staff, then physically assaulting the Kanungo and Patwari, and even issuing death threats.
He further said that Patwari Bhop Singh, who sustained serious injuries in the attack, is currently undergoing treatment at Dhalpur Hospital. Calling the incident deeply shameful, Sharma said that if government officials are not safe while performing their duties, one can easily imagine the condition of public safety in the state.
The BJP leader questioned, “When the Chief Minister himself holds the Home portfolio, who is responsible for this complete breakdown of law and order? Does the Congress government have the courage to enforce the law against its own elected representatives, or is such goondaism being openly protected under the shield of power?”
Randhir Sharma added that this is not an isolated incident. Crimes, violence, illegal encroachments, and attacks on administrative officers are rising continuously under Congress rule, clearly indicating that the government has lost control and criminals are emboldened.
He demanded that strict charges be immediately registered against Khekh Ram, his arrest be ensured, full security be provided to the injured Patwari, and it be made clear that no political position places anyone above the law.
Issuing a warning, Randhir Sharma said that if the Congress government fails to take stringent action, the BJP will not hesitate to launch a statewide agitation against this growing lawlessness and political hooliganism. He said the people of Himachal Pradesh are now asking—will the rule of law survive, or will goondaism prevail under Congress rule?
