Laureate Public School to Host National Asmita Wushu League

Shimla, July 23 – Laureate Public School, Bharari, Shimla, will proudly host the Asmita Khelo India Women’s Wushu League on July 24 and 25, 2025. This prestigious national-level event is part of the Khelo India initiative launched by the Government of India to promote and develop sporting talent across the country.
The Asmita Wushu League specifically aims to empower young female athletes by providing them a platform to compete in junior and sub-junior Wushu categories, including Taolu and Sanda. Nearly 300 athletes from Himachal Pradesh and beyond are expected to participate in this league, which plays a vital role in popularizing Wushu among women and nurturing the next generation of champions.
The event is being organized by the Shimla District Wushu Association under the aegis of the Himachal Pradesh Wushu Association. ADM Shimla Pankaj Sharma and Dr. Shikha Sharma will grace the inaugural ceremony as chief guests. Participants will receive official Khelo India certificates, which can aid in future educational pursuits.
Dr. Meera Singh, Principal of Laureate Public School, has been appointed the organizing secretary, while State Wushu Association President Shivpal Manhans will also be present during the event.
Due to weather and scheduling conflicts, the Bilaspur leg of the league is yet to be finalised.
