Chamba (Salooni), February 9: Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal said that a three-day Lake Festival will be organised from February 20 to 22 at the Taleru tourism site on Chamera Lake. The festival is being organised by the Salooni sub-division administration.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the preparations for the festival during a visit to Taleru and held a meeting with concerned officers to assess arrangements and finalise the action plan. He said the main objective of the festival is to promote tourism and local culture, while highlighting the lesser-known tourist destinations of the Salooni and Tissa areas.

During the festival, cultural night programmes will be organised for two days, featuring local folk music and folk dances. Activities such as boating will also be arranged for tourists. Local products prepared by women’s groups and self-help groups will be displayed and promoted during the event.

The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to ensure cleanliness during the festival and urged media and social media representatives to publicise the event widely. Several senior officers were present during the review.
