Lahaul-Spiti Power Board XEN Suspended for Negligence

Shimla, Sept 3 – Amid heavy rains causing power and water crises in Himachal Pradesh, the Executive Engineer (XEN) of the Electricity Board in Lahaul-Spiti has been suspended for dereliction of duty.

Officials confirmed that Vijay Kumar Thakur, XEN, had been absent from duty without informing authorities for the past 30 days. Additionally, he has been accused of insubordination and misbehavior with a woman officer.

The suspension comes at a time when residents are already struggling with power outages due to adverse weather conditions, raising serious concerns about administrative responsibility during crises.
