Kullu: Schools, Colleges Closed Sept 8–9 Due to Heavy Rains

Kullu, Sept 7: In view of heavy rainfall causing extensive damage to infrastructure, roads, and essential supplies, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Kullu has ordered the closure of all educational institutions across Banjar and Manali subdivisions on September 8 and 9, 2025.

Deputy Commissioner-cum-DDMA Chairperson, Torul S. Raveesh, stated that the decision was taken following reports from Sub-Divisional Officers recommending closure for the safety of students while restoration works continue.

In Sub-Division Kullu, all institutions in Sub-Tehsil Jari, along with several schools including Govt. Senior Secondary Schools (Khalogi, Peej, Bagan) and Govt. Primary Schools (Bagan, Doghri-2, Peej, Badhai, Bedhar, Buai, Lot, Choparsa), will also remain closed.

The order applies to all schools, DIET, Anganwadi Centres, Colleges, ITIs, Polytechnic, Engineering, and Pharmacy Colleges, both government and private.

Authorities have been directed to ensure strict compliance and necessary measures for student safety.
