Kinner-Kailash Yatra-2023: Preparations in Full Swing

Rekongpio, August 5: The Kinner-Kailash Yatra for the year 2023 will be organized from August 15th to August 30th. This information was announced by Kalpa Subdivisional Magistrate, Dr. Major Shashank Gupta, during a meeting held to discuss the successful organization of the pilgrimage. He directed all the officials of various departments in the district to ensure timely preparations for a safe and comfortable journey for the pilgrims.
He instructed the police and home guard officials to deploy an adequate number of personnel to ensure the safety of the pilgrims and handle any emergency situations. Additionally, he ordered the formation of a rapid response team. He also directed the health department officials to fulfill all medical requirements during the journey and ensure medical facilities at most pilgrimage locations.
Furthermore, he advised the forest department to ensure all preparations for the Yatra, including road improvement, making the route more accessible, and installing CCTV cameras for security. He also asked the water department to ensure the availability of water during the pilgrimage.
Dr. Shashank Gupta mentioned that the Yatra has been delayed this year due to heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions. The pilgrimage will commence on August 15th, 2023, and continue until August 30th, 2023. He informed that registration for the Yatra has already started from August 5th, 2023.
He emphasized that pilgrims can register online or through offline mediums. For offline registration, they can contact the district tourism department, and for online registration, they can visit https://hpkinnaur.nic.in.
He added that a total of 350 individuals will be allowed to undertake the Yatra daily, with 200 registrations to be done online and 150 registrations to be done offline. He stressed that this year, pilgrims must carry a valid medical certificate from a recognized doctor, and the medical certificate should not be issued more than 15 days before the commencement of the journey.
