Khushiyon Ka Shagun’ Scheme Supports Daughters’ Weddings; 451 Families Benefited

Una, February 20: The Himachal Pradesh Government’s *Mukhyamantri Shagun Yojana* continues to provide financial support to economically weaker families during the marriage of their daughters. Under the scheme, eligible girls from BPL families receive ₹31,000 as financial assistance to ensure dignity and social security.
According to officials, over the past three years in Una district, 451 beneficiaries have received financial aid exceeding ₹1.39 crore. During 2023–24, assistance worth ₹49.60 lakh was provided to 160 beneficiaries, while 228 beneficiaries received ₹70.68 lakh in 2024–25. In the current financial year, 63 beneficiaries have already been granted ₹19.53 lakh.
District authorities stated that the assistance amount is transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts to ensure transparency and timely support. Eligible applicants must be permanent residents of Himachal Pradesh and at least 18 years old, and applications can be submitted from two months before the wedding up to six months after the ceremony.
