Keylong freezes at minus 5.7 deg C

Shimla, Nov 13 – Minimum temperature plummeted by many degrees below normal as it was minus 5.7 degree Celsius at Keylong headquarter of Lahaul-Spiti district on Sunday, Met department said.
It said in a forecast issued here Sunday that minimum temperature slid down to 5.7 degrees and 4.7 degrees below normal. In Kinnaur district Kalpa was minus 0.8 degrees and 2.5 degree below normal. Tourist resort Kufri 1.4, Hamirpur 5.4, Shimla and Una was at seven, Solan & Sundernagar(Mandi) four, Hamirpur 5.4, Mandi 5.7, Chanba 5.8, Kangra 7.5 , Bilaspur & Dharamshala, 8.5, tourist resort Dalhousie 6 and Kufri five degrees.
A fresh Western Disturbance as a trough in mid-tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 km above means sea level run roughly. Rain and Snowfall occurred in many places in high reaches. Rain is likely to occur at a few places in mid and isolated places in the next 24 hours.
