Kasol to Get Solid Waste Management Plant, DC Torul S. Ravish Reviews Progress

Kasol, July 23: Deputy Commissioner Torul S. Ravish chaired a review meeting regarding the proposed solid waste management plant in Kasol. She directed the Rural Development Department to complete formalities for machinery installation and emphasized that the shredder must meet PWD specifications to allow use of shredded material in road construction.

She also gave instructions for setting up a baling machine, dust remover, and bio-composter. To ensure uninterrupted operation, the DC instructed installation of a transformer and shifting of the 3-phase power line, along with a comprehensive cost estimate.

Further directions included obtaining Pollution Control Board clearance and fencing the site. The DC also asked concerned departments to clearly define responsibilities, and work on user charges, a draft MoU, and agreement for plant operations.
