2 min read

Dehra, June 28 – Congress candidate Kamlesh Thakur continued her vigorous election campaign on Friday, addressing public meetings in Darakata, Siyoti Khurd, Tripal, Paysa, Dohag, Paloti, Bhati, and Mayol. Kamlesh stated that she is contesting the election following the high command’s orders and is ready to do anything for the Congress party. She emphasized that the respect and recognition given by the party have brought her to this position, and her primary goal is public service.

Kamlesh highlighted her deep connection to Dehra, contrasting herself with those who claim to be “sons of the soil” but were born in Mumbai. She proudly shared that her birth, education, and upbringing were all in Dehra, and her in-laws have ancestral roots in Beh Donta. She affirmed her commitment to both her maternal and marital homes in Dehra, promising to address issues village by village after becoming an MLA.

She criticized the BJP and the former independent MLA for disrupting development work by imposing by-elections, resulting in halted appointments and promotions due to the election code of conduct. Kamlesh urged voters to question the BJP and the former independent MLA about the reason for his resignation and re-election, thus burdening the public with by-election costs.

Kamlesh assured the public that she would compensate for the negligence of the previous MLA in just six months. She encouraged the people of Dehra not to make the same mistake again, as the former independent MLA betrayed the voters for personal gain. She emphasized the rarity of an independent MLA resigning and running for re-election, calling it an unprecedented event in Himachal and possibly in the country.

Kamlesh reiterated her promise of development under the leadership of the current Chief Minister, urging voters to seize this golden opportunity. She noted the significant number of honest BJP workers who understand the situation and are joining Congress, with many BJP workers from Tripal joining Congress on Friday.
