JUIT Launches Pathway to US Master’s with Stipend Support

Waknaghat, September 18: Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, has signed a landmark MoU with South Dakota Mines, USA, introducing a first-of-its-kind Accelerated Master’s Program. The MoU was signed by Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor, JUIT, and Prof. Rajesh Sani, Distinguished Professor and Director (MASON), South Dakota Mines.

This new program builds on the decade-long academic collaboration between JUIT and South Dakota Mines (since 2013). It offers students full tuition fee remission (approx. USD 18,000), a monthly stipend of USD 1,100–1,200, and the unique opportunity to begin Master’s research during the 8th semester of B.Tech., thereby completing their degree in 1.5 years instead of 2 years.

So far, 35 JUIT students have benefitted from the exchange program, with the new initiative further opening doors for global academic exposure. Among the first three students selected, Kartik from Solan, Himachal Pradesh, has already secured admission.

Prof. Sudhir Kumar, Dean (Research & Internationalization), expressed gratitude to Prof. Sani and CEO Manu Bhaskar Gaur, while acknowledging the vision of Vice Chancellor Prof. Sharma. The MoU signing was attended by all Deans and HoDs, marking a historic step in JUIT’s journey of academic excellence and internationalization.

This initiative is a major milestone for students of Himachal Pradesh, providing global opportunities, financial assistance, and advanced research platforms.
