Solan, Jan 24: Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) inaugurated its Drobotics Lab on January 20, 2026, strengthening the university’s push toward experiential, technology-driven education. The facility is designed to foster innovation and practical skills across robotics, automation, embedded systems, and AI.

The inauguration was led by the Vice Chancellor Prof. R. K. Sharma, whose remarks underscored JUIT’s vision of blending creativity with industry-relevant competencies. A highlight of the event was an interactive robotic dog, which drew strong engagement and set the tone for applied learning, followed by a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony symbolising knowledge and new beginnings.

An exhibition showcased the lab’s capabilities, including AI and edge-computing platforms from NVIDIA (Jetson Nano, Jetson Thor), Arduino boards, a 3D printer for rapid prototyping, robotic cars, and a range of automation tools. Students demonstrated use-cases and outlined how the lab will support project-based learning, research, and collaboration aligned with real-world applications.

The Drobotics Lab establishes a dynamic ecosystem for innovation at JUIT, reinforcing its commitment to preparing students for emerging technological challenges through practice-first education.
