JUIT Hosts Programme on Modern Prefabricated Building Technologies

Waknaghat, February 19, 2026: Strengthening its role as a hub for industry–academia collaboration, Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat organized a two-day Capacity Building Programme on “Prefabricated and Pre-Engineered Building Systems,” bringing together engineers, academicians and industry experts to promote sustainable and efficient construction practices. Around 23 engineers from key infrastructure agencies including HPPWD, SJVNL and HIMUDA participated in the initiative aimed at enhancing technical skills and encouraging the adoption of modern building technologies in public infrastructure projects.
Programme Coordinator Dr. Tanmay Gupta highlighted the growing relevance of prefabricated and PEB technologies for faster execution, structural efficiency and improved quality control, especially in hilly terrains like Himachal Pradesh. Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Sharma underlined the importance of bridging academic knowledge with real-world implementation, while Registrar and Dean of Students Brigadier R. K. Sharma emphasized the critical role of civil engineers in nation-building. Head of Civil Engineering Department Prof. (Dr.) Ashish Kumar stressed the future potential of dry construction technologies in sustainable infrastructure development.
The programme featured expert lectures by Prof. Prem Pal Bansal from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology and industry specialists from Today’s Architects Pvt. Ltd., offering participants practical insights into modern design philosophy, real-world project challenges and advanced construction methodologies. The initiative reflects JUIT’s continued commitment to professional capacity building, technological innovation and sustainable infrastructure development.
