JUIT Felicitates Mock GAT-B Toppers, Encourages Pursuit of Scientific Careers

Waknaghat, May 13, 2025 — The Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics at Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, organized a felicitation ceremony to honor college toppers and high achievers of the Mock GAT-B test, conducted in 17 government colleges across Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana. The event aimed to raise awareness about the Graduate Aptitude Test in Biotechnology (GAT-B) and promote higher education in biosciences.
Winners were awarded cash prizes, mementos, and certificates in recognition of their performance. JUIT Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajendra Kumar Sharma congratulated the students and encouraged them to pursue excellence in their scientific careers. Prof. Sudhir Kumar, Dean of Research and Internationalisation, stressed the value of postgraduate studies for career advancement.
Prof. Jata Shankar, Head of the Department, elaborated on academic programs like MSc Biotechnology, MSc Microbiology, and MTech Biotechnology offered by JUIT. Event coordinator Prof. Anil Kant explained the GAT-B’s significance in securing admission to premier institutions with DBT scholarships. Co-coordinator Prof. Rahul Shrivastava highlighted JUIT’s role in delivering quality education and thanked all contributors.
The event concluded with a guided visit of the invited students to the university’s state-of-the-art laboratories and research facilities.
