Jaypee University Launches FDP on MATLAB for Advanced Image Analysis
1 min readJaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Solan, Himachal Pradesh, inaugurated its online Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled “MATLAB for Image Analysis and Pattern Recognition: From Fundamentals to Advanced Applications” on September 2, 2024. This initiative, organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in collaboration with the Electronics & ICT Academy and Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Mohali, is designed to enhance the skills of academicians and lab staff from polytechnic and engineering institutions. The FDP, running from September 2 to 6, 2024, is coordinated by Dr. Vikas Baghel and Dr. Nishant Jain of JUIT’s ECE Department. The inauguration featured key figures like Prof. Balwinder Singh, Joint Director & Head, E&ICT, CDAC Mohali, Prof. Shruti Jain, Associate Dean of Innovation at JUIT, and Prof. Rajiv Kumar, Head of the ECE Department at JUIT. Esteemed speakers, including Prof. Tapan Kumar Gandhi from IIT Delhi and Dr. Taranjit Kaur from IIT Jodhpur, delivered the first session to over 200 online participants. The FDP is fully funded and supported by the Electronics & ICT Academy, C-DAC.
Commendations are due to Jaypee University for the inauguration of the Faculty Development Program centered on MATLAB pertaining to Advanced Image Analysis. This endeavor holds significant relevance in light of the escalating prominence of image processing across multifarious disciplines, encompassing medical imaging, remote sensing, and artificial intelligence sectors. The extensive training afforded through MATLAB is expected to furnish faculty members with the capability to embed sophisticated analytical methodologies within their educational programs and investigative pursuits. The prospect of collaborative initiatives arising from this augmentation of knowledge is indeed intriguing.
