Jal Shakti Vibhag Suffers Rs. 196 Crore Loss Due to Monsoon Rains: Deputy CM Agnihotri
1 min readShimla, Aug 01, 2024 — Recent heavy monsoon rains and flash floods have led to a significant loss of Rs. 196 crore for the Jal Shakti Vibhag, impacting 2,421 water supply schemes in Himachal Pradesh. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri revealed this during a review meeting. Kullu and Shimla districts faced major damages, with the Kurpan scheme in Shimla’s Matiyana area suffering losses of around Rs. 10 crore. Efforts are underway to restore the affected schemes, with 1,438 temporarily fixed and ongoing work on the rest.
