Jal Shakti Department : Promotion of 107 Foremen Positions

Shimla, Sept. 06 : The Water Resources Department is set to fill 107 Foreman positions based on promotions. The Principal Secretary of the Water Resources Department, Onkar Chand Sharma, has issued a notification for this purpose. The department has released recruitment and promotion rules for these positions, which will be filled through promotions within the department.

These positions will be filled through promotions from the categories of Junior Technician (Pump Operator). Specific rules have been defined for this process. Eighty-five percent of promotions for these positions will be reserved for 10th pass Junior Technicians. The remaining 15% of promotions will be within the same categories, which include a 5% quota for under-matric pump operators, a 3% quota for ITI certificate holders in pump operation, and a 2% quota for mechanic fitters.

Employees in the Foreman category will be Class-3, non-gazetted, and will undergo a probation period of two years. They will be part of Group-C and will have a cadre at the circle level. Transfers for these employees will be possible within the circle.
