Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur visited the disaster-affected areas of Seraj constituency, trekking over 10 km to Lambathach due to blocked roads. He expressed deep concern over the delayed road restoration even after five days of the calamity.
Thakur assured disaster victims of support and resilience, stating that restoration of homes, orchards, and shops will begin soon. He urged the government to expedite relief efforts and wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for additional aid.
Highlighting the severe damage in Thunag, Thakur directed officials to restore essential services—roads, electricity, and water—immediately. He also emphasized quick disbursement of relief funds to distressed families and praised the Army and volunteers assisting with ration distribution in relief camps.
