1 min read

Shimla, January 14: Opposition leader Jairam Thakur expressed concern over the unresolved issues related to healthcare facilities and the reported increase in cement prices in the state. He emphasized the need for the government to address these matters promptly.

Thakur stated that the matter of examination facilities has not been resolved adequately, leading doctors in the state to discuss going on strike. He urged the government to pay attention to health-related issues and ensure the speedy resolution of concerns raised by medical professionals. Additionally, he called on the government to ensure that people receive proper treatment through the Himcare scheme, as payment delays are hindering the medical treatment of individuals.

Addressing the reported increase in cement prices, Thakur highlighted the inhumane impact on people already grappling with the aftermath of the recent natural disaster, where more than fifteen thousand homes have been destroyed. He emphasized that cement is a crucial material in the reconstruction of homes, and the reported doubling of cement prices during the disaster is unacceptable. He criticized the government for previously raising cement prices both before and during emergencies, asserting that it adds burden on those already suffering.

Jairam Thakur called on the government to take immediate action to resolve both the healthcare and cement price hike issues, ensuring the well-being of the people in the state.
