1 min read

Shimla, 25 January 2025: Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition, Jairam Thakur, launched a sharp attack on the Sukhu government, accusing it of non-performance during its two-year tenure. He stated that the current government has borrowed over ₹30,000 crores without delivering substantial results. Thakur urged CM Sukhu to stop blaming the opposition and present a list of achievements from the past two years.

Thakur highlighted the previous BJP government’s welfare schemes, including free treatment up to ₹5 lakhs under Himcare, reduced electricity bills with free 125-unit provisions, and free water in rural areas. He also underscored pension benefits and initiatives for women and differently-abled individuals.

The BJP leader criticized the Congress-led government for failing to fulfill its guarantees and alleged mismanagement in critical areas such as healthcare and education. He pointed to delays in stipends for medical interns, unpaid contractor bills, and inadequate implementation of the Sukhashraya scheme. He emphasized that opposition leaders are receiving grievances from citizens suffering due to poor governance.

Thakur concluded by urging the government to focus on ground-level work instead of relying on rhetoric and baseless accusations against the opposition.
