Jairam Thakur Slams Sukhu Government Over Industrial Policies and Sanjauli Police Station Decision

1 min read

Shimla, 15 February – Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur criticized the Sukhu government, alleging that it is making life difficult for industries in Himachal Pradesh. He accused the government of unfairly targeting steel industries by increasing electricity rates beyond neighboring states, forcing many units to shut down.

Thakur stated that industrialists are struggling due to high power tariffs, breaking previous promises of affordable electricity. He warned that harming industries would ultimately hurt the state’s economy and employment.

On the Sanjauli police station issue, Thakur questioned the government’s decision to revert the police post into a station, despite previously downgrading it. He accused the Chief Minister of acting arbitrarily and contradicting his own policies.
