Jairam Thakur Slams Sukhu Government, Highlights ‘Modi Guarantee’ as Trustworthy Leadership Across India
1 min readReturning from campaigning for BJP in Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections, former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition, Jairam Thakur, criticized the state government’s failures under CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. He claimed that discussions about the inefficiency of Himachal’s government were widespread, tarnishing the state’s image known for peace and progress. Thakur attributed the setback in Himachal’s development to Congress’s two-year tenure.
Thakur highlighted that people in Maharashtra and Jharkhand were aware of Himachal’s struggles under Congress and expressed a strong preference for BJP-led governance. According to him, the ‘double-engine’ government model led by PM Modi is well-regarded for fulfilling promises and bringing stability. He praised Modi’s commitment to keeping election pledges, contrasting it with what he described as Congress’s history of making empty promises. Thakur further emphasized that BJP’s commitment to public welfare schemes like Ayushman Bharat shows the effectiveness of ‘Modi Guarantee.’
The Leader of Opposition criticized the Congress for its governance model in Himachal, stating that many youths lost jobs and public institutions were closed. Thakur vowed to continue exposing Congress’s “false guarantees” and stressed that BJP will not allow deceptive politics to succeed.
