Jairam Thakur Slams Sukhu Government for Targeting Industries
1 min readShimla, September 24, 2024: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur has criticized the Sukhu government for its policies towards industries in Himachal Pradesh, accusing it of harassing and pressuring industrialists since coming to power. Thakur questioned the government’s intentions, asking why it is targeting industries that contribute to the state’s economy.
He stated that industries are being subjected to unconstitutional actions, many of which have been overturned by the High Court. Thakur warned that the government’s actions could lead to economic setbacks, with industries considering shutting down operations in protest. He added that such a shutdown would hurt daily wage workers and damage the state’s economy.
Thakur also raised concerns about the government’s handling of crime in industrial areas, suggesting that it could be politically motivated. He urged the government to stop creating obstacles for industries, emphasizing that globally, governments offer incentives to industries to boost the economy, not hinder them.
