1 min read

Shimla, Feb 13: Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur criticised the state government, alleging political posturing and lack of clarity in handling financial issues. Addressing the media after BJP leaders walked out of an all-party meeting, he claimed the government was presenting misleading data and blaming the Centre for its failures. Thakur said the state should present strong arguments before the Finance Commission instead of indulging in politics, adding that central assistance and tax devolution to Himachal Pradesh have increased significantly. He also welcomed the Supreme Court’s direction to conduct local body elections by May 31.
