Jairam Thakur Seeks Action Over Raj Bhavan Protest, Mourns IAF Officer

Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur has strongly condemned the protest held near Raj Bhavan and the burning of an effigy of the Prime Minister, calling it an attack on constitutional dignity. He demanded strict action against those involved and sought an explanation from the government over the failure of police and administration to prevent the incident in such a sensitive zone. Raising serious questions on law and order in the state, he also held discussions with the DGP and urged immediate identification and punishment of the culprits.
Thakur also expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of Wing Commander Naman Syal of Himachal Pradesh, who lost his life in a Tejas aircraft accident, terming his sacrifice an irreparable loss for the nation.
Additionally, he welcomed the implementation of the four new labour codes in the country, calling it a historic and visionary reform by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure better rights, security and transparency for workers across sectors.
