Jairam Thakur Says Bihar Mandate Affirms PM Modi’s Leadership, Rejects “Congress Lies”

Shimla, November 14: Celebrating the NDA’s sweeping victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur addressed a gathering at CTO Chowk in Shimla. He said the people of Bihar have once again delivered a decisive mandate in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance model.
Thakur said the results reflect the nation’s trust in Modi’s policies and his ability to deliver on promises. He added that the Prime Minister has transformed Indian politics by creating a “pro-incumbency wave,” where people reward performance and transparent governance.
Targeting Congress, Thakur said the people of India and Bihar have repeatedly rejected the “falsehoods and divisive politics” of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress-led alliance. He claimed that voters no longer fall for “fake guarantees or populist slogans.”
Thakur also criticised Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for campaigning in Bihar as a Congress “star campaigner.” He alleged that Sukhu spread misleading promises but failed to convince voters, as Congress struggled to secure even minimal seats.
He said the mandate signifies a larger trend—that the governance style of the Sukhu government in Himachal, built on unfulfilled guarantees, will face a similar rejection.
