1 min read

Chamba/Bharmour, September 12: Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur visited disaster-hit areas of Chamba district, including Bharmour, Hadsar, and Dhanchho, where landslides and heavy rains have caused extensive damage to houses, roads, fields, and orchards. He interacted with affected families, assuring them of full support and urging the government to provide maximum compensation and expedite restoration of basic services.

Thakur also prayed at the historic Chaurasi Temple for the well-being of Himachal. During his visit to Lilah, he emphasized the need for special rehabilitation measures due to the region’s unique economic challenges. He later held a review meeting with the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, and other officials, directing them to intensify relief and rehabilitation work on a war footing, especially in remote areas before snowfall disrupts access.

He reiterated that BJP stands firmly with every affected family and will ensure central assistance reaches them. Local MLA Dr. Janak Raj and senior BJP leaders accompanied him.
