Jairam Thakur Questions Govt. Silence on Allegations
1 min readDharamshala, December 19, 2024 – Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur launched a scathing attack on the Sukhu-led government, alleging it to be deeply entrenched in corruption. Addressing the media, Thakur claimed, “The Sukhu government is soaked in corruption from top to bottom, with the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) actively complicit in shielding corrupt practices.”
Thakur accused the government of providing protection to corrupt officials rather than taking strict action against allegations of misconduct. He questioned why no investigations have been initiated against officials facing serious accusations, suggesting the government’s silence hints at deeper involvement.
“The government is shielding tainted officers, granting them undue favors, and appointing them to critical positions despite ongoing allegations against them,” he stated. Thakur further alleged that the government lacked the moral courage to act against such individuals, raising concerns about its credibility.
