Jairam Thakur Pays Tribute on Gandhi & Shastri Jayanti

Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur launched a sharp attack on the Sukhu government, alleging a complete collapse of law and order in Himachal Pradesh. He said horrific crimes reported from Rohru, Una, Kullu, Banjar, Chamba, and Shimla show that “no corner of the state is safe.” Thakur accused the government of shielding criminals while the police remain busy monitoring BJP leaders instead of protecting citizens.

He cited recent incidents of murder, rape, harassment, and abductions, claiming the government’s silence amounted to “protection of the guilty.” Thakur also slammed the administration for failing to act against erring officials and said the Sukhu government’s negligence had tarnished the state’s image.

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and Shastri Jayanti, Thakur paid floral tributes at the Ridge, Shimla. He said Mahatma Gandhi’s path of truth and non-violence remains relevant today, while Lal Bahadur Shastri’s slogan “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” continues to inspire India’s self-reliance, further strengthened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan.”
