The event witnessed active participation from hundreds of local residents, BJP officials, and party workers. Addressing the public gathering after the conclusion of the Tiranga Yatra, Thakur emphasized the sacrifices made by countless individuals for India’s independence and the ongoing dedication of soldiers safeguarding the nation. He urged citizens to honor and respect these sacrifices and remain committed to their duties towards the nation and its rich cultural heritage.
Thakur announced that the BJP would hoist four lakh national flags across 8,000 booths in the state as part of the campaign. He highlighted the unique enthusiasm that grips the nation as Republic Day and Independence Day approach, with citizens across India paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country.
As part of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, Jairam Thakur planted a tree in his mother’s name in Nauna village, Seraj constituency. This campaign, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to promote environmental sustainability, with millions of trees being planted nationwide. Thakur encouraged the people of Himachal Pradesh to actively participate in this initiative, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the greenery of the state’s sacred land by planting and nurturing trees.
