Jairam Thakur Highlights Agricultural Reforms at IIT Mandi Event

Shimla Feb 24 : Former CM and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, along with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, attended IIT Mandi Foundation Day and later participated in a Kisan Samman Ceremony in Sundernagar. He highlighted that ₹3.68 lakh crore has been disbursed to farmers under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, with ₹180 crore credited to 9.73 lakh Himachal farmers’ accounts. He emphasized that the agriculture budget has increased over five times compared to the UPA era, with ₹1.37 lakh crore allocated for 2024-25. The KCC loan limit has been raised, Soil Health Cards have been distributed, and higher MSP is benefiting farmers. He stated that PM Modi’s leadership ensures direct financial support for farmers, eliminating corruption in fund distribution.
