Shimla, Feb. 01, 2026: Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur praised the Union Budget 2026–27 presented under the leadership of Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, calling it a strong blueprint for a self-reliant and developed India. He highlighted major investments in infrastructure, tax relief for the middle class, promotion of eco-tourism in Himachal Pradesh, and support for women, farmers, MSMEs, and healthcare as key strengths of the budget, saying it would boost growth, employment, and balanced development across the country.
