Jairam Thakur Hails AIIMS Bilaspur as a Dream Come True for Himachal

Bilaspur, October 3, 2025 – Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur praised the establishment of AIIMS Bilaspur, calling it a “dream come true” for Himachal Pradesh. Addressing the institute’s foundation day event, he said AIIMS has introduced world-class medical facilities and new dimensions in research and healthcare for the people of the state
Thakur expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for advancing Himachal’s share of state taxes and for approving two new Kendriya Vidyalayas in Kotkhai and Paonta Sahib. He also acknowledged the role of BJP National President and former Health Minister JP Nadda in facilitating AIIMS’ construction and infrastructure development. Thakur recalled his efforts during his tenure to ensure timely availability of resources, including a ₹100 crore water supply scheme for the institute.
He congratulated the AIIMS faculty, medical trainees, and staff, emphasizing the importance of such institutions in providing world-class healthcare to residents of a small hilly state.
