Jairam Thakur Exposes Sukhu Government’s Anti-Employee Policies
1 min readMandi, Dec 22 : Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur has accused the Congress government of betraying employees with its recent policies. Thakur criticized the passage of the Recruitment and Service Conditions Amendment Bill 2024, stating that it would negatively impact the seniority and increments of contractual employees despite BJP’s strong opposition.
Thakur alleged that the Sukhu government, which came to power on the promise of restoring the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), is now working against employee interests. He claimed that contractual employees, who qualify through competitive exams, would lose financial benefits and seniority due to the new amendments. “This amendment is a direct attack on employees’ rights, and the government’s true anti-employee face is now evident,” he said.
Highlighting that many employee organizations are already opposing the bill, Thakur warned that the discontent is growing. He also pointed out that the government has not hired a single doctor in two years, despite promises of improving healthcare services.
Thakur further criticized the government for misleading the public by claiming to have created 31,000 jobs, many of which were initiated during the BJP’s tenure. He urged employees to resist the amendments and accused the government of prioritizing cost-saving measures over employee welfare.
