Jairam Thakur Criticizes State Government Over Health Infrastructure and Political Remarks

1 min read

Mandi, March 7: Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur on Saturday accused Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of disrespecting the sentiments of people of Mandi through remarks made on public platforms. Addressing the concluding session of the two-day Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Prashikshan Mahabhiyan-2026 workshop in the Seraj Assembly constituency, Thakur alleged that the Chief Minister uses public forums to target him personally whenever he visits Mandi.

Thakur also raised concerns about the condition of Nerchowk Medical College, stating that despite announcements about high-tech robotic surgery facilities, the radiology department is reportedly non-functional and an MRI machine has not yet been installed. He questioned how advanced medical procedures could be carried out without basic diagnostic facilities and adequate staff.

The BJP leader further accused the state government of making hollow announcements while the state faces rising debt and challenges in basic infrastructure and healthcare services. He urged party workers to take the message of the Centre’s public welfare policies to the people and strengthen grassroots outreach.
