Jairam Thakur Criticizes Congress for Neglecting Dalits and Ignoring Ambedkar’s Vision

Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur strongly criticized Congress, accusing it of sidelining Dalits while promoting other communities for political gains. Speaking at the Constitution Pride Campaign event, he emphasized Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s contributions in advocating for Dalit rights.

Thakur highlighted that Ambedkar had vehemently opposed Congress’s policies, especially concerning Kashmir. He remarked, “Dr. Ambedkar warned that Congress’s Kashmir policy would fail to resolve the issue and lead to future challenges. His advice was ignored, resulting in the current situation.”

He further criticized former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for his lack of commitment to addressing Hindu concerns in Kashmir, calling it a significant lapse in leadership. Thakur claimed that Congress repeatedly disrespected both Dr. Ambedkar and the Constitution he authored, using policies for its political advantage.

The Leader of Opposition concluded by urging the BJP to continue upholding Ambedkar’s legacy and constitutional values, asserting that Congress had failed to do so throughout its tenure.
