Shimla, July 27, 2024:Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition, Jairam Thakur, criticized CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for boycotting the NITI Aayog meeting, calling it detrimental to Himachal Pradesh’s interests. Thakur stated that such political decisions harm the state’s development and are unfortunate. He emphasized that the CM missed an opportunity to secure financial aid and projects for the state by not attending the meeting chaired by the Prime Minister.

Thakur also highlighted the significant budget allocation by the central government, which includes Rs. 2698 crore for enhancing connectivity through railways, highways, and tunnels, and provisions for disaster reconstruction and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Phase 4. He criticized the state government for increasing fees for TET and D.El.Ed entrance exams, labeling it as an attempt to raise revenue at the expense of unemployed youth.
