Kullu, September 6 – Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, along with senior BJP leader and former MP Maheshwar Singh, met representatives of the Dev Samaj in Kullu today regarding the proposed Bijli Mahadev Ropeway project. He assured them that their sentiments, linked to the sacred traditions and deep faith associated with this holy site, will be fully respected.
Thakur emphasized that the project was not pursued during the previous government due to concerns over preserving the sanctity of the place. He added that the issue has been raised with BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and also conveyed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi through the PMO.
He underlined that while development is important, it cannot come at the cost of dev culture, local traditions, environment, and sanctity. “Protecting our ancient traditions and dev culture is our collective responsibility, and the sentiments of the people will remain our top priority,” Thakur stated.
