Jairam Slams CM for Insensitivity Towards Doctors

1 min read

Shimla — Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur has strongly criticized Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for his insensitive treatment of doctors at IGMC, Shimla. Thakur condemned the CM for making doctors wait in the rain for two hours and not meeting all of them, calling it a heartless act. He also accused the state government and Himachal Congress leaders of remaining silent on the brutal incident in Bengal involving a trainee doctor.

Thakur highlighted that despite doctors seeking assurance for their safety following recent security lapses, the Chief Minister failed to address their concerns adequately. He emphasized that the government’s indifferent attitude reflects its insensitivity towards the tragic rape and murder of the trainee doctor in Bengal and the security of local doctors.

Furthermore, Thakur criticized the Congress and the INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) bloc for their stance on the Bengal incident. He accused them of siding with the West Bengal government, which he claims is more concerned with protecting the accused than ensuring justice for the victim. Thakur called on Himachal Congress leaders to rise above party lines and condemn the Bengal incident, urging the Chief Minister to apologize for his treatment of the state’s doctors.

Thakur also expressed shock at the findings emerging from the ongoing investigation in Bengal, noting that the facts coming to light through the media are deeply disturbing. He urged leaders to prioritize justice for the victim, free from political bias.
